Privacy

Gestura Index is built for data minimization: it collects as little as possible, and nothing that isn't needed to run the service.

No IP storage

The API does not persist IP addresses. Requests are not logged with a caller's IP for longer than technically necessary to serve the response.

Anonymous install counters

Downloads increase an anonymous, aggregate install counter per entry. This counter cannot be traced back to an individual person, device, or IP address — it is a simple number, not a log of who downloaded what.

No accounts in this phase

This phase of the index has no user accounts. Submitting, updating or deleting an entry works with an anonymous edit token stored only in your own browser; the server never sees or stores an email address or password.

Submitted content is public

Menus and search engines you submit are, by nature, published for others to browse and download — that is the purpose of the index. Only submit content you are comfortable sharing publicly; do not include personal data in names, descriptions or URLs.

Reports

Reports about an entry are processed anonymously; no reporter identity is stored alongside a report.
